Background
The Kenyan coast is blessed with many diverse ecosystems and wildlife which provides enormous social and economic value to Kenya.
On the coast, there were several NGOs who had real need of films to raise environmental awareness amongst local communities and were therefore eager to collaborate with the Brock Initiative. Further footage was gathered of a diverse array of subjects both above and under water. This included footage to produce films detailing small ways families can minimise their environmental impacts and make useful products out of waste, in addition to films about local ecosystems.
Outcomes
A large number of films of different lengths and subjects are in progress. Initial versions of some of these will be shown in these communities in time for Christmas this year. We look forward to the feedback that this will generate, as this enables the highly interactive aspect of film-making that the Brock Initiative aims to achieve.
